JUVEDERM™

What JUVEDERM™ is JUVEDERM™ injecteable gel is a smooth gel filler your doctor eases under your skin to instantly smooth out those wrinkles or folds that look like parentheses along the sides of your nose and mouth. Results aren't just instant, they're so smooth and natural, everyone will notice but no one will know.

Your doctor or healthcare professional can tell you which JUVEDERM™ formulation is right for you: JUVEDERM™ Ultra injectable gel, optimally formulated for versatility in contouring and volumizing wrinkles and folds, or JUVEDERM™ Ultra Plus, a robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper wrinkles and folds. Look smooth and natural with JUVEDERM™ injectable gel.

It is a purified protein administered in a simple nonsurgical procedure that temporarily improves the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people aged 18 to 65. During treatment, very low doses of BOTOX® Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines between brows.

What is the difference between
BOTOX (r) Cosmetic and fillers?

Frown lines are caused by overactive facial muscles. Fillers mask the wrinkle by adding volume around the muscle with intradermal injections. BOTOX® Cosmetic is intramuscular, blocking the chemicals that cause facial muscles to contract, thereby relaxing them. While there are many options available for fillers, BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only product of its type that affects the muscles that cause these wrinkles.

According to a recent survey of 204 dermatologists and plastic surgeons, BOTOX® Cosmetic has the highest satisfaction rating of all physician-administered treatments in 2003 and 2004*. And for the past 3 years, BOTOX® Cosmetic was the most popular physician-administered cosmetic procedure in the United States (surgical and nonsurgical combined).**

We can conceal a lot about ourselves—weight, hair color, opinions—but when someone says "you look tired" or asks "what's wrong," they're probably making eye contact.

The slowing of skin-cell turnover associated with aging, genetics and chronic sun exposure cause the delicate skin around the eyes to be one of the earliest signs of wear and tear. Fine lines give way to crow's feet which turn into wrinkles. This often occurs right along with droopy lids and dark bags. The Thermage® procedure naturally smoothes periorbital wrinkles and generally opens the eye area, creating a natural, refreshed and youthful appearance.

In the past, when patients wanted to tighten and "lift" lax or redundant skin, invasive surgery was the only option. Now, the Thermage procedure offers the option of "no downtime" skin rejuvenation—a less costly, non-invasive method for tightening tissue and generating completely new collegen deep beneath the skin's surface.

As you get older, your face loses its shape. Restylane simply restores that fullness and provides a smoother contour to the face.

Restylane® has been used in more than one million treatments in over 60 countries to correct a variety of wrinkles and to enhance the appearance and fullness of lips. Restylane is FDA approved for use in the U.S. However, it is currently indicated in the U.S. only for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.

Restylane maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. So perhaps it's not surprising that the most basic element of natural beauty, water, holds the key to the long-lasting results you can expect.

With a new procedure called Laser Skin Resurfacing, it is now possible to remove surface imperfections and dramatically reduce lines and wrinkles.
By gently removing sun-damaged, aging skin, layer by layer, this procedure helps to protect and stimulate regeneration of the deeper, healthy skin, producing smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin. Laser Skin Resurfacing is rapid, gentle, bloodless and uses no chemicals.

The effect of this treatment develops over a few months following the procedure and can be expected to last for several years.

Periorbital wrinkles and fine wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, upper lip and mouth can be improved in a non-invasive way. The Smoothbeam Laser targets tissue under the skin surface stimulating new collagen growth. There is no pain associated with this treatment.

A typical treatment will take between 10 and 30 minutes. Depending on the degree of aggressiveness you and our laser technician decide on, your treatment can be a "lunchtime" procedure, in which you can go right back to work, or more aggressive treatment, in which there will be a brief recuperative period. Consult with our physician about your treatment schedule and interval between subsequent treatments. A single treatment builds collagen gradually with the maximum benefit in appearance in 60 to 90 days. Usually, two treatments are recommended for optimal results.
