Thermage®:
Treatment is performed with a sophisticated device unlike any other instrument used in aesthetic practices. Radiofrequency (RF) energy-which has been a traditional tool in surgical medicine-has been refined and enhanced for the application of tightening tissue. The heat energy tightens existing collagen and promotes growth of new collagen fibers deep in the dermis. Instead of the temporary results achieved by superficial treatment of the skin's surface, tissue tightening offers longer-lasting structural benefits.

The Thermage procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area you are having treated. Additional time may be required for skin preparation prior to the procedure. Recently published studies conducted by Thermage show that measurable tightening improvements appear gradually over 2 to 6 months after a single treatment session. However, many patients report seeing an earlier response.

A single treatment has produced good results in a significant number of patients. Patients of all skin types and colors can have the Thermage procedure, as it does not affect skin pigment like lasers or other resurfacing procedures. Our technician will assess the number and frequency of treatments required to achieve optimal results for your skin.

With each touch of the Thermage treatment tip, you will experience a brief intense heating sensation as the collagen in deep layers of your skin is tightened. To protect your skin and make the treatment more comfortable, a cooling spray is delivered before, during, and after each application of the treatment tip. Additionally, as part of pretreatment, an anesthetic cream is usually applied to further enhance your comfort.

Most people return to their regular activities immediately following the Thermage procedure. Some people experience mild redness (like a sunburn), but it usually disappears quickly. There is no special care needed after treatment, but sunscreen is recommended as a part of good skin care.

Restylane®: Restylane is injected directly into the mid-to-deep dermis of the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient, and results are practically instantaneous. To optimize your comfort during the short procedure, our physician may anesthetize the treatment area.

Studies have shown that the average treatment results last six months or even longer. The unique NASHA™ technology helps maintain the cosmetic effect until the injected material is nearly gone.

Restylane lasts twice as long as collagen, so treatments are typically scheduled twice a year. Evidence shows that having a touch-up treatment before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.

BOTOX: The doctor will determine exactly where to administer several tiny injections to achieve the best results. No anesthesia is required, although he or she may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting. The entire procedure takes approximately ten minutes. Discomfort is minimal and brief—most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. It is unlikely you will develop significant side effects, although some people develop slight temporary bruising at the injection site, which can easily be covered by makeup. You may resume normal activity immediately.

Within days, you'll see a marked improvement which may continue to improve for as long as a week and should last up to four months.

Botox® Cosmetic relaxes the overactive muscles whose repeated contractions cause the lines between your brows to form. So you can frown, smile, or look surprised—without the furrows, creases, and wrinkles.

Smoothbeam Laser treatment is a new, non-invasive way to treat your skin. The laser employs a revolutionary, patented laser process with DCD™ (Dynamic Cooling Device), which targets and heats collagen in the upper dermis while protecting the epidermis. You and our laser specialist will wear safety glasses to protect your eyes during the procedure. The specialist will use a small handpiece with a probe that touches your skin to deliver the laser light. You will feel the light spray of coolant onto your skin just before each laser pulse. Because the laser's Dynamic Cooling Device is so effective, many patients report the procedure as "mild," with little more than a slight snapping or tingling sensation.
